Bill Stepien Biography

Bill Stepien is a U.S. political consultant who is serving as candidate manager for the presidential 2020 campaign of Donald Trump. From 2017 to 2018, he was a member of the Republican Party and the white house director of policy matters in the Trump regime.

Stepien graduated from West Morris’ New York City Central School and Middle School and Rutgers College. Stepien started his political career on the campaign by Anthony Bucco and the 2000 US campaign by Bob Franks.

He served as Political Director of the 2004 Bush/Cheney campaign in New Hampshire and as Director of the 2005 and 2006 Republican National Committee 72-Hour Campaign. In 2008, after serving as National Field Director, served on the New York Presidency Campaign for Senator John S. McCain, in which he was the regional campaign manager for the New York presidential campaign, Cleveland Under Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

He acted in the same function in the 2016 Presidential Campaign as for the hopeful President Donald Trump. Stepien was the campaign manager in the successful New Jersey Governor of Civil Change campaign by Chris Christie in 2009. The first big announcement by Christie after winning the election was the naming of four top personnel including Stepien as Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative and Inter-governmental Affairs.

As of April 2013, he resigned from that post in order to become the Christie re-election campaign director. In the name of Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, his replacement was Anne Kelly Bridge, Kelly.

On January 7th, 2014, Christie announced his intention that the new New Jersey Republican party was stepping forward at the boundaries of the state House. On January 7, 2014, Christie said, ‘Admittedly, I have asked Bill Stepien to become chairman of our new State Party because no one knows better how we’d grow our organization, express our message and, most important of all, win an election….’ because Bill Stepien was the top RDN serviceman, and New Jersey Republicans would be fortunate for him to lead our Party.’

Bill Stepien Fort Lee lane closure scandal

“On 9 January, 2 days after nominating Stepien to the presidency of the New Jersey Republican Party, Christie announced that he had “losses confidence in Bill’s position,” while asking Mr. Stepien to forgo its name. Stepien’s retreat was one of Christie’s plans, was the result of having starved up the Fort Lee track shutdown scandal leading to its close-down when it began that day.”

It was finished that Stepien was in a coercive relationship with Bridget Kelly, his place as Christie’s Vice Chief of Staff. His attorney also claimed in May that his client was misrepresented by a story produced in the name of the Governor’s Office. Federal prosecution witness David Wildstein said in the September 2016 trial over lane closures that Stepien knew how the lane closures were happening.

Stepien’s corporation, Nassau Strategies LLC, sits in Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey out of the Knob Hill Road residential office. Like several other consulting firms from New Jersey, the company benefited from Christie’s leadership of the Republican Governors Association. In 2013, RGA gave the company a $15,000 pay in support to Stepien, a month before Christie broke up links with Stepien. GOPAC granted a consolidated payment of $6,000 to its counseling policy strategies in Nassau on December 8, 2014, respectively.

Stepien was hired for the presidential campaign for Donald Trump in August 2016, 2016. On 20 January, Stepien was named political director of the White House. Stepien and White House public link manager Justin Clark is promoted by Senior Political Advisers to the re-election campaign of the President in December 2018, focusing on the organization of delegates and parties.

In 2019, Stepien and Trump worked to persuade the Federal Democratic National Parliament member, Jeff Van Drew, to switch to the Republican Party, during the Donald Trump impeachment. Van Drew hired Stepien in December 2019 to advise on his election campaign 2020. Trump announced on July 15, 2020, his advocacy with Donald Trump for the 2020 presidential campaign promoting Steps into their 2020 campaign manager to replace a later from Brad Parscale. On October 2, 2020, Stepien allegedly tested COVID-19 positive.
