Sarah Hyland (Sarah Jane Hyland) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Haley Dunphy on the ABC sitcom Modern Family, for which she has received critical acclaim and numerous accolades and nominations.

Sarah Hyland Career

She attended the Professional Performing Arts School, followed by small roles in the films Private Parts (1997), Annie (1999), and Blind Date (2007). She is also known for her roles in the films Geek Charming (2011), Struck by Lightning (2012), Scary Movie 5 (2013), Vampire Academy (2014), See You in Valhalla (2015), and Dirty Dancing (2017).

Hyland has been featured in other film roles such as Molly in the 1999 television film Annie, and Maddie Healy in Lipstick Jungle on NBC. She is featured in an Olive Garden commercial along with actress Molly Culver and has also appeared on Broadway as the young Jacqueline Bouvier in Grey Gardens. In 2011, she co-starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Geek Charming. In the following year, Hyland appeared in the film Struck by Lightning. In September 2012, it was announced that she would be part of a Nintendo 3DS ad campaign together with Dianna Agron and Gabby Douglas.

She previously dated her Geek Charming co-star Matt Prokop for several years after meeting in 2010. In August 2014, she obtained a domestic violence temporary restraining order against Prokop for physically and verbally abusing her for the last four years of their relationship. In October, the restraining order became permanent. Hyland was in a relationship with actor Dominic Sherwood whom she met in February 2015, on the set of Vampire Academy. The relationship ended in 2017.
