Before joining Fox 8, he served as a political anchor and chief correspondent for FOX 5 in New York. Prior to joining the station, Toohey served as a director for NBC’s ‘Meet the Press”, covering some of the major news events and national reports for 5 years. He was able to hold interviews with key political and cultural personalities, such as former leaders and top government officials.
Among his favorite assignments was producing Chuck Todd’s first sit-down interview with Donald Trump on his private plane in Iowa. Also went to Nebraska and South Dakota to interview voters directly affected by the Keystone XL pipeline and also flew a drone over a field for a report about abandoned presidential monuments in southern Virginia.
