Wenninger joined Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2004 after completing his high school education. In 2006, he graduated with an Associate’s degree in General Studies & Pre Meteorology. Next, he joined Mississippi State University where he received a Bachelor Of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology in 209 when he completed his studies.

Wenninger’s career started when he encountered Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He rode out the beach with his family and witnessed the ruin of the worst storm to hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 36 years. The following weeks after the storm, he climbed the ten-foot piles of rubble and tried to recover what he could. Thus, he realized his calling and wanted to brief people about weather predictions.
