Jon Shainman Biography
Jon Shainman is an American journalist working for WPTV/WFLX F0X 29 as an anchor and multimedia journalist. He joined the station in August 2009. Previously, he worked for WPBF in West Palm Beach, Florida as an anchor for more than a decade.
Jon Shainman Education
Shainman joined Northwestern University in 1985 after completing his high school education. In 1989, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Radio-TV-Film. While in college, he covered many Northwestern University athletic occasions including football and baseball. During his time in high school, he served as a host of his music show on the campus radio station. Also, he worked as play-by-play voice for the school’s football games.

Before his stint at WPBF, Shainman worked for WBOC in Salisbury, Marland as an anchor and reporter for nearly 5 years. From 1989 to 1993, he worked in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware at WGMD Radio as a news anchor and sports talk host. Since he was a child, broadcasting has always been implanted in him. At the age of 9, he recorded his newscasts and used his brother as an on-the-scene witness. Aside from journalism, he actively partakes in the community where he hosts several charity events for groups like Children’s Place at HomeSafe, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Hearts and Hope.
