Dan Cochell is an American journalist working for KDRO as a morning news anchor and KRDO Radio’s program director since joining the station in January 2021. Previously, he worked for the Falcon School District as a broadcast journalism teacher.

Cochell attended Pikes Peak State College from 1989 to 1999, where he studied small business development and completed his small business certificate. In 2023, he joined Pikes Peak State College, where he received an Associate of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies. He also studied at Gateway High School.

Cochell works for KDRO as a morning news anchor and KRDO Radio’s program director. This is his second time at the station, as he served KRDO from August 2025 to April 2012. During this tenure, he won the 2012 Colorado Springs Gazette “Best Radio Announcer” for KRDO News Radio Morning News. He then moved to Real Radio 1580, where he worked as a VP of Operations, Colorado Springs, and General Manager. Also, he was a sales associate at Phil Long Dealerships.
Cochell worked for KKTV 11 News in Colorado Springs, where he started as a sales and marketing assistant, then staff journalist, traffic coordinator, and eventually staff photojournalist/video editor. He then worked as a K-12 business and art instructor at McClave Undivided High School. Following his time there, he served iHeartRadio for nearly three years before moving to the Falcon School District, where he was a broadcast journalism teacher. News has always been a significant part of his life for more than 37 years. He can also be heard on KRDO’s Morning News on 105.5 FM, 92.5 FM, 1240 AM, and Streaming.
