Kiara Smith is an American journalist working for WTNH as a reporter since joining the station in February 2025. Previously, she worked for WTNH’s sister station, WWLP 22News in Springfield, Massachusetts, for 2 years.

Smith joined Southern Connecticut State University in 2017 after finishing her high school education. In 2021, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with a minor in Communications. In September 2021 furthered her studies at Boston University, where she received her Master’s degree in Journalism in May 2023.
Smith obtained hands-on experience as an intern at WSB-TV in Atlanta and WCVB-TV in Boston. In this capacity, she honed her storytelling and editing skills. Moreover, she made news stories for Boston Neighborhood Network and was actively involved in the TV stations at both of her universities.
