Kent Pierce Biography

Kent Pierce is an American journalist working for WTNH as a general assignment reporter since joining the station in the final day of 1999. Previously, he worked for WRNN-TV in New York City as a reporter and field anchor.

He also worked as a writer and researcher at the Media Studies Center and a producer at Newsweek On Air. Moreover, he was the station manager and news producer for WKCR-FM. Additionally, he directed the news and was a newscaster at WHVW-AM.

Pierce was inspired by his mother while growing up. His mother served as the first female hard-news reporter for the Poughkeepsie Journal. She used to take him to her workplace, where he’d happily play in a box next to her desk. His favorite part about the job is that he has something to show for his effort at the end of the day. On the other hand, he finds knocking on the door of someone who’s just lost a loved one the hardest thing about his job.
