Kara Peters is an American journalist working for WXII as a weekend evening anchor since she was promoted in November 2023. She joined the station in November 2023 as a news reporter. Previously, she worked for the Hearst station in Jackson, Mississippi, as a reporter and fill-in anchor.

Peters joined the University of Virginia in 2017 after finishing her education at Granby High School. In 2021, she graduated with a double major in Media Studies and American Studies. While in college, she worked as a secretary for the Kappa Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Chapter President for the National Association of Black Journalists at UVA.
