Chase Bullman Biography

Chase Bullman is an American meteorologist working for WOI-DT Local 5 News as a morning meteorologist since joining the station in June 2025. Previously, he taught at Joplin Schools and spent 4 years as the chief meteorologist at KSNF in Joplin, Missouri.

Chase Bullman Education

Bullman joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham in August 2010 after finishing his high school education. He pursued his dream of professional soccer as part of the Men’s D-1 Soccer Team there until December 2011. In January 2012, he joined Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology in May 2015.

Bullman works for WOI-DT Local 5 News as a morning meteorologist from 5 to 7 a.m. After a year of navigating hormonal weather patterns in the 7th-grade science classroom, he looks forward to forecasting the kind of storms that don’t involve cafeteria food fights or “Can I go to the bathroom?” every five minutes.

Bullman’s passion for the weather began during middle school, following Hurricane Katrina. He ultimately settled on meteorology after the Super Outbreak of April 2011. He then spent one year in Monroe, Louisiana, as a weekend meteorologist at KNOE 8.

Following his time in Monroe, Bullman relocated to Joplin, Missouri, where he served KODE as a morning meteorologist and co-anchor for 4 years. He then spent the next 4 years as the chief meteorologist at KSNF. While in Joplin, he spent a year teaching life science to 7th-grade students.
