Megan Mitchell is an American journalist working for WLWT as a weekday morning anchor and reporter sicne rejoining the station in 2023. This is her second time at the station, having previously worked here as a reporter and anchor for the Saturday and Sunday morning show for 7 years. Previously, she spent 11 months as an anchor and reporter for WFAA in Dallas, Texas.

She launched her career in Bismarck, North Dakota, where she spent more than 2 years as a weekday morning anchor and tribal reporter. There, she broke the story of the Standing Rock Reservation’s resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Mitchell has received multiple awards and honors during her career, including dozens of local broadcast awards and the Best of Cincinnati Awards for Best TV Anchor and Best Journalist in 2022. She earned 3rd place in the Cincinnati of the Year just behind the Bengals’ Quarterback Joe Burrow and beloved hippo Fiona. In 2020, she earned an Emmy Award in 2020 for her coverage of teen mental health. The Human Rights Campaign of Cincinnati granted her its Power of Her Award.

She hangs out at good restaurants all over the area, hikes at nearby parks with her big doodle Dakota, or drives around the entire region in her car, experiencing the culture of different neighborhoods and towns.
Some of her favorite interests include geography, interior design, fashion, science, sociology, politics, musical theatre, and Internet culture, as well as food and chef culture. Also, she is a big advocate for women’s sports!
