Cory Kowitz is an American meteorologist working for KCTV as a meteorologist since joining the station in March 2026. Previously, he worked as a meteorologist at KOLD 13 News in Tucson, Arizona, for nearly 3 years.

Kowitz joined North Carolina State University in 2019 after finishing his high school education. In 2023, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology with a minor in Science Communication. While in college, he served as the president of the student-run weather broadcast club, NCSU Weather. He also worked as a meteorologist for Carolina Week, the University of North Carolina’s collegiate newscast.

He consistently documented weather events, did mock weather reports in the snow, and stayed up late and woke up early to track weather conditions. Also, he used to pretend to be Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel in his backyard during hurricanes, blizzards, and everything in between. After staying on top of forecasts to stay ready for severe conditions, he discovered that the weather is actually pretty incredible!
