Aalia Adam is a Canadian anchor and host who is working at Global News. She serves as the weekend anchor on the Global TV app and Amazon Prime Video. Aalia also serves as the morning co-host of  Global News Weekend.

Adam is an anchor and host working at Global News. Montreal is his native home and si discovered her passion for storytelling when she was sixteen years old after traveling to southern Africa she gained inspiration to create a documentary on HIV-AIDS. By the time she was seventeen years old, she has interned at Global Montreal and secured a job as a reporter just shortly after she completed her journalism degree at Concordia University.

In addition, while she served as a reporter, she had the chance to cover major news stories including Nelson Mandela’s funeral in South Africa, federal and provincial elections, and the Lac-Megantic train derailment. She left Global News and spent a year working for Breakfast Television Montreal where she served as a reporter and later joined CTV in Montreal where she also served as a reporter from April 2016 to October 2017.

She attended Heritage Regional High School where she graduated in 2007. Later on, she joined Champlain College where she studied Liberal Arts and graduated in 2009. In addition, she studied at Concordia University in 2012. During her spare time, she enjoys taking improv classes at Second City, traveling, and working on her YouTube series, Seriously Gluten-Free, which features restaurants around Canada that accommodate people with celiac disease and gluten sensitivities.
