Baker studied at Western Carolina University and UNC Charlotte and has worked for WYFF News 4 as co-anchor of WYFF News 4 Today since his promotion in May 2023. Upon joining the station, he first worked as co-anchor of the 5 p.m. weekday newscast. Previously, he worked in Tyler, Texas at KYTX as an evening anchor.
While working at KYTX, he was the evening anchor during the COVID-19 pandemic, severe weather, protests, a serial killer case, elections, and evacuations.
