Abby Fridmann is an American journalist who serves on the News 4 team as the “Weekend Wake Up” anchor and weekday reporter since November 2020. She is a proud Buffalonian and is thrilled to be back home!
Abby Fridmann Career
She worked as a morning anchor and feature reporter at WVNY/WFFF in Burlington, Vermont, before returning to Buffalo. Abby has worked as a Nexstar News Associate for KTVX-TV on Capitol Hill, where she gained political and investigative reporting expertise. Abby also covered Senator Bernie Sanders and President Donald Trump’s 2020 election campaigns while in Burlington.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and broadcasting with an emphasis in media production from The College at Brockport. She went on to acquire a master’s degree in broadcasting and digital journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication.
Abby got a Syracuse Press Club award for “Best College TV Feature Story” while working on her master’s degree. Abby enjoys all Buffalo and Syracuse sports, being outside, and drinking copious amounts of coffee. Jay, a whippet/hound, and Dexter, a black cat, were both rescued by her.
