Adam Kuperstein Biography
Adam Kuperstein is an American Emmy Award-winning Journalist working for NBC 4 New York. There, he anchors the 11 am and 5 pm newscasts. He moved into his current role after working for three years as a weekend evening anchor, anchoring the 6 pm and 11 pm weekend newscasts and weekday general assignment reporter for the station.
His anchoring and reporting was a key component of NBC 4 New York’s award-winning COVID-19 cover honored in January 2021 with the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for creating a 360 view in real time of the coronavirus pandemic with courageous and thorough reporting on the virus’ explosion in New York City.

He received his education at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications where he graduated earning a dual Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Finance.

Prior to this role, he was a weekend evening anchor and weekday general assignment reporter where he worked for three years. At the station, he has covered many memorable news stories including; reporting from the U.S. Capitol riots in January 2021 that interrupted the certification of the 2020 Presidential election. In October 2018, he reported from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania following the deadly anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Also, he reported in February 2018 from Parkland, Florida following the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Following the incident, he spent several days on the ground covering the response and community impact.
Also, he has covered Hurricanes Irma and Dorian in Florida, and the deadly 2018 Trump Tower inferno in Manhattan. Because of his anchoring team coverage of the January 4, 2018, Tri-State blizzard, he was awarded a New York Emmy. Prior to working at NBC 4 New York, he worked for NBC6/WTVJ as a weekday news and sports anchor for more than a decade. During his stint there, he covered three presidential elections and reported from the 2012 presidential debate at Lynn University. Also, he led the station’s sports coverage including live reports from the 2016 Rio Olympics. In addition, he has worked for WUPW-TV as the weekend sports anchor, as well as at WHIZ-TV.
