After discovering Addallee’s hearing loss, her parents took her to an audiologist, and she was prescribed hearing aids. She struggled with them and didn’t want to wear them at first, according to Kelly Jo.

“So they prescribed her hearing aids, but it was a hard thing for her. They irritated her, and if you moved your hand at all by her ear, you would get a loud, squealing noise. It was a constant, ‘Addee are you wearing your hearing aids?'” He said.
