Alexus starred as the teenage Loretha “Cookie” Lyon(played by Taraji P. Henson) in FOX’s musical drama series, Empire between 2016 and 2019 in Seasons 3, 5, and 6. Cookie is one of the main characters in the show, the ex-wife of Lucious Lyon, and the mother of Andre, Jamal, and Hakeem.

Cookie and Lucious were involved in drug dealing, leading to Cookie’s arrest after a drug deal went bad. As a result, she spends 17 years in jail, leaving her kids in the care of Lucious. She launched her acting career in TV One’s sitcom, The Rickey Smiley Show, from 2012 to 2014. Further, she studied Theater Arts at the Alabama School of Fine Arts.

Alexus starred in roles in Grey’s Anatomy and Code Black in 2015. Before that, she debuted on film with a role in Unspoken Words opposite Robin Givens. Next, she secured roles in  My First Love, Bad Girl, and Something Like Summer. She starred as the teenage Cookie Lyon(played by Taraji P. Henson) in FOX’s musical drama series, Empire.

Alexus portrayed Young Melinda Moore(played by Taraji P. Henson) in Acrimony. That same year, she appeared in  Family Blood and Breaking In.
