Al Sapienza is an American actor, who is best known for his role as Mikey Palmice on the HBO series The Sopranos as well as Marty Spinella, a lobbyist for the teachers’ union in the Netflix series House of Cards.

Sapienza started studying music at the age of eight, and got hit with the acting bug when he was twelve. He has had numerous roles in television, stage and film productions. Sapienza played the role of Dr. Jake Housman in the North American premiere of the stage version of Dirty Dancing.

Five months after graduating from New York University he landed a role in the Broadway musical “Beatlemania”. Sapienza stayed in that show for five years and headed out to Los Angeles. In 1998, he landed the role of Mikey Palmice in “The Sopranos” which brought him back to NY.
