From June 2012 to October 2014, he was a Sports Director at WETM-TV. During his time there, he covered NASCAR and the many racing series that passed through Watkins Glen International. Also, he collaborated during the 2013 Men’s Basketball National Invitational Tournament in New York City to provide BYU coverage for Nexstar affiliates in Salt Lake City. He began his journalism career at KFDM in Beaumont, Texas where he served as a Sports Reporter/Anchor from September 23008 to June 2012. There, he enjoyed some of the best BBQ and covered Lamar University’s baseball and basketball teams advancing to the NCAA Tournament. Also, he arranged weekly in-studio interviews for “The Sunday Sports Extra”, a highly-rated program in the Southeast TX Market.
In his journalism career, he has won a pair of Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Awards for “Oustanding Television Coverage of a Local Sporting Event”, a New York State Broadcasters Association Award for “Outstanding Sportscast”, and a Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Award for “Best Sports Story”. When he is not working, he can be found supporting the same teams from his childhood in Central PA, looking for a place with the PAC-12 Network so he can cheer on his Sun Devils, testing his knowledge and luck at trivia night, continuing a 25-year search for his golf, swing, hiking, and even occasionally shooting some hoops.
