Allison Vuchnich Biography

Allison Vuchnich is a Canadian Correspondent who is working at Global News where she serves as the Senior Network Correspondent. While serving as a Senior Network Correspondent, she has contributes to all Global News platforms including health reporting for Global National, the network’s flagship newscast. In addition, she has distinguished herself in political, investigative, and health reporting.

Vuchnich is currently working at Global News where he serves as the Senior Network Correspondent. For her devotion to the craft and original reporting and producing, she has earned a Gemini award, many RTDNA awards, and other accolades. She joined the Global News team while she resided in Washington, D.C and while she was there, she covered a wide range of major events such as the Bush administration, the anthrax mailings, and the September 11th terrorist attacks. In addition, after she resided in a number of North American cities she came back to her hometown, Toronto in 2004.

In 2004, she joined Global National Bureau and has covered stories domestically including the Highway of Heroes repatriations, the Boxing Day shootings, and a number of federal elections, and internationally, Pope John Paul II’s passing and a coup in Thailand. Later on, she became a health specialist for Global Toronto, whereby she covered social issues, the environment, and health.

Vuchnich’s in-depth reports have included the debate surrounding GMOs and labeling, a pesticide that can end up in drinking water, an inquiry into Atrazine, investigating potential health impacts of the compact fluorescent light bulbs, and testing for chemicals in clothing sold in Canada.

Previously, she worked at CTV, NBC, and ABC. Vuchnich attended Northwestern University in Chicago where she studied in its Medill School of Journalism and graduated with a master’s degree in journalism.
