In 2016, Gilbert reported the floods in eastern Iowa which won her an award-winning journalist. She also covered the centennial of the Tulsa Race Massacre and was the National Press Photographer’s Association. She started her career at WLNS-TV as a reporter from September 2014 to December 2014.

Before working for WLNS-TV, Amanda served as a summer intern at KSDK-TV NewsChannel 5 in Saint Louis. While there, she worked together with producers, editors, and reporters. Besides this, Gilbert worked at NBC News as a nightly news intern from June 2013 to September 2013. She also conducted interviews and delivered web stories for the Nightly News.
