Amelia Jones is an American journalist working for KDFW FOX 4 as a news reporter since joining the station in March 2023. Previously, she worked as a news reporter and fill-in anchor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for almost 3 years.

Jones joined Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2014 after finishing her education at Notre Dame de Sion Schools. In 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with minors in Digital Media and French. While in college, she interned at FOX6 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was also involved with Marquette Television.

Jones works for KDFW FOX 4 as a news reporter. Though she didn’t dream of being a news reporter while growing up, she knew that she wanted to do something that would help people. Her passion for journalism found her while in college, attending the Journalism 101 class on her first day. In that class, the professor described the power journalists have to make a difference in people’s lives. She then took a journalism major the second week of classes and has never looked back ever since.

After graduating from college, Jones launched her journalism career as a morning reporter for NBC15 in Madison, Wisconsin. There, she covered controversial elections, historic flooding across the central part of the state, and protests at the State Capitol following George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis. She also won a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Best Live On-Scene Reporting Award.

Following her time in Madison, Jones was a WakeUp reporter and fill-in anchor at FOX6 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While in Milwaukee, she broadcast stories that attracted national attention, including Kyle Rittenhouse’s lawsuit in Kenosha and the Milwaukee Bucks NBA World Championship.

Jones rode with Milwaukee Police for a special report on the city’s rise in crime. This is one of the stories she holds most pride in. She won her second Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Award for Best Live On-Scene Reporting.

Though she enjoyed her time in Wisconsin, Jones missed her family, with roots in the South. She used to vacation with her family in Oklahoma and Texas, quickly learning that Saturdays in the fall were for Sooner football, and Sundays were for supporting the Cowboys. She hopped at the chance to join FOX4, returning to her roots and giving back to the community that has given her family so much.
