Amy Cockerham is an American reporter working for WSLS 10 News as a multimedia journalist and reporter. Previously, she was a multimedia journalist and digital reporter at WJHL-TV in Johnson City.

Cockerham attended North Surry High School in 2012 and graduated in 2016 with a diploma. Afterward, she joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she attained a Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Art and Broadcast Journalism in 2019. Before joining the station in January 2023, she worked for WJHL-TV in Johnson City as a multimedia journalist and digital reporter. While there in Johnson City, Amy reported significant news including the disappearance of 5-year-old Summer Wells in Hawkins County, the murder of police officer Michael Chandler, and devastating flooding in Buchanan County. She served the station for two years and three months from May 2021 to January 2023.
Amy previously spent four months working for Carolina Week as a reporter and MMJ. Besides working at Carolina Week, she worked for Carolina Now as an executive producer from August 2018 to April 2020. Cockerham started her broadcasting career at WNCN News in Raleigh-Durham as a reporter intern. She worked with the station for three months from January 2020 to March 2020.
Earlier, Amy worked for UNC Media Hub as a stembler scholar reporter from August 2019 to December 2019. During her period there, she was in charge of producing, editing, shooting, and gathering news. Prior to working in Chapel Hill, Cockerham served as a general news intern at Spectrum in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. As an intern, she was responsible for various roles such as assisting producers.
In addition, Amy was also a general intern at WXII 12 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She served the station for three months from June 2018 to August 2018. Aside from working as a journalist, Cockerham served as a marketing intern at Playmakers Repertory Company in Chapel Hill.
