Lange graduated with honors cum laude from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where she majored in Spanish and Broadcast Journalism. She earned her Master’s in Social Justice degree from Marygrove College in Detroit in 2008. Lange’s reporting, from politics to courts to social issues, has helped her to cover some of the most important stories of our time.
After spending several years covering a Michigan couple’s struggle for the right to marry, she went to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention, to Capitol Hill for testimony on the Flint Water Crisis, and to the Supreme Court for the same-sex marriage case. After the earthquake there, she also traveled many times to an orphanage in Haiti to share the story of the children affected by the natural disaster.
Several Emmy awards have been won by Lange, including best anchor and investigative reporter. Passionate about the problem of homelessness, for her reporting in Haiti, and her work on children in the state foster care system, she received Emmy awards. Her work was honored with an Edward R Murrow Regional Award for homeless veterans.
She was also awarded prizes by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Broadcasters Association of Michigan, and the Associated Press. Lange came from WEYI-TV in Flint, Michigan to FOX 2, where she worked from 1996 until 1998 as a reporter/anchor. Lange was a producer of news promotions and an associate news producer at WTVJ in Miami, Florida, before joining WEYI.
