He’s the host and executive producer of Bravo’s late-night talk show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Cohen also has a pop culture channel called Radio Andy on SiriusXM Radio.

Cohen graduated in 1986 from Clayton High School. He is a graduate of Boston University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcasting journalism. Cohen wrote The Daily Free Press for the Boston University student newspaper. He was later interned at CBS News alongside Julie Chen, who also worked as an intern.

Cohen began his career in television as an intern at CBS News. He was a producer for CBS for 10 years. Cohen was vice president of original programming at Bravo. He hosts a weekly midnight television talk show, Watches What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. In 2013, he declined to co-host the Miss Universe pageant in Russia, due to the country’s recent adoption of anti-gay laws. He portrayed Zeus in Lady Gaga’s music video for “G.U.Y.”

In November 2014, Cohen published his second memoir, The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year. The book spans a year-long journal entries beginning in September 2013. It became a New York Times Best Seller in the Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction category. It was inspired by the similarly titled The Andy Warhol Diaries.

On September 14, 2015, SiriusXM launched a new radio channel curated by Cohen, known as Radio Andy. The channel features shows hosted by Cohen (Andy Cohen Live, and Andy Cohen’s Deep & Shallow) Cohen also hosts a series of special broadcasts for his station known as Town Halls in front of a live studio audience.

In 2016, the publisher Henry Holt and Company announced it was launching the imprint Andy Cohen Books. In January 2017, Fox ordered a revival of Love Connection hosted by Cohens, which premiered on May 25. Later that year, Cohen succeeded Kathy Griffin as co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage alongside Cooper. In March 2018, Cohen appeared as a guest judge in an episode of the VH1 reality television series RuPaul’s Drag Race.

In December 2018 and 2020, he will again co-host CNN’s NYE coverage with Cooper. Cohen played himself on the Netflix series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, in May 2018. He also appeared on Riverdale in 2018 as a friend of the Lodge family in the show Riverdale. He has appeared in a cameo on Unbreakables on Netflix in August 2013. He is the host of the reality series The Hills, which airs on Sundays at 10 pm ET.
