Angelica Hale is an American-Filipino child singer from Atlanta, Georgia. She is best known for competing in the 12th season of America’s Got Talent, where she became the runner-up.

Angelica began taking singing lessons with vocal coach Tricia Grey in Alpharetta, Georgia when she was still young. She won a singing competition for five- to nine-year-olds, and has performed for many charitable functions, such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

In 2017, Angelica Hale competed on the twelfth season of America’s Got Talent, where she made it past the auditions round with her rendition of “Rise Up” by Andra Day.

In the Judge Cuts round, she was given a golden buzzer by guest judge Chris Hardwick, after covering Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire”, and advanced immediately.

During the live shows, Hale sang “Clarity” by Zedd and Foxes at the Quarterfinals and “Without You” by David Guetta for her Semifinals performance. She advanced to the Top 10 finals where she performed “Symphony” by Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson.

For the finale in episode 22, Hale performed “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” by Kelly Clarkson with Clarkson and fellow contestant Kechi Okwuchi.

Angelica Hale finished the competition in second place, becoming the youngest runner-up in the show’s history.

After America’s Got Talent

Shortly after America’s Got Talent, Angelica performed in Tuckahoe, New York, for a crowd of 7,000 people. In addition, she became the first kid ambassador of the National Kidney Foundation.

Hale performed at the AGT live shows from November 2–5 at Las Vegas with Light Balance, Darci Lynne Farmer, and Preacher Lawson. She also performed at the 2017 NFL game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Dallas Cowboys in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

On December 11, 2017, she performed the National Anthem at Heinz Field for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. She performed “Girl on Fire” at the 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

In March 2018, Hale performed at Celebrity Fight Night with David Foster and on Little Big Shots. On March 29, 2018, the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators invited her to perform both the Star-Spangled Banner and O Canada at the beginning of a game against the Florida Panthers.

Angelica filmed her first movie, “American Reject”, over the Summer of 2018 in New Orleans, LA. The film anticipated release date will be in 2019.

She will also voice the titular character in the upcoming animated series “Maya Unstoppable” which is expected to premiere in 2019.

When Hale was four, she contracted a severe bacterial pneumonia, causing septic shock and multiple organ failure, including her kidneys and permanent scarring in her right lung.

Hale was placed in a medically-induced coma and transferred from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston and placed on ECMO life-support.

After spending 12 days on ECMO and 80 days in the hospital recovering, Hale was released to go home on April 24, 2012. On September 13, 2013 after spending a year and a half on dialysis, she received a life-saving kidney transplant from her mother, Eva.

Hale continues to have quarterly checkups with her doctors.
