Anitra Mecadon Biography

Anitra Mecadon is an American television host, lifestyle tv personality, and interior designer. She will be a cast member alongside Lil Jon on the HGTV series called Lil Jon Wants to Do What? which will premiere on May 2, 2022, for its first season. 

Anitra Mecadon Education

In 1999, she attended Bauder College where she graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. Later on, She joined the University of Scranton where she earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology Biology, and Fine Arts.

Anitra Mecadon Career

Over the years, she has done everything from edgy boutiques to galleries, and restaurants and is the designer behind one of the top nightclubs in Atlanta. In addition, she has made appearances on Travel Channel, DIYNetwork, and HGTV.

Mecadon has been serving as the host, designer/ building expert for DiyNetwok’s series called MegaDens for 5 seasons. She has also appeared on DIY Network, The Vanilla Ice Project. Over the years, she has served as the host of; DIY & Esquire Magazine’s Ultimate Bachelor Pad, Raise the Roof College Challenge on HGTV, and HGTV’s Behind the Build Dream Home.

Furthermore, she hosted Posh Pets with Beth Stern which aired on HGTV,  Behind the Build of the HGTV Smart Home, and All American Handyman with Mike Holmes & Scott McGillivray, and appeared on Travel Channels Hotel Impossible.

In addition, Mecadon has appeared on many daytime shows on The Weather Channel and CBS. Anita is also the  National Spokesperson for PurpleXP Drywall by National Gypsum. As of the moment, she is working with Plaid Crafts on Product development.

Mecadon is the owner of Plum Avocado Design Studio. In addition, she has also put her acting skills to work and appeared in films such as Mega Dens in 2011, All American Handyman in 2010, and Who Stole the Electric Car? in 2009.
