Ann Dorn Biography

Ann Dorn is the widow of retired St. Louis police captain David Dorn who was murdered this summer after responding to a burglary. She is one of the speakers at the 2020 Republican National Convention where she will be speaking on the fourth day. Currently, she works for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department as a sergeant.

Her husband was found shot to death outside of a pawn shop in north St. Louis. David Dorn was shot while Lee’s Pawn and Jewelry was looted after a night of unrest in the city on June 2, 2020. David Dorn served 38 years with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and then served as the chief of the Moline Acres Police Department for about six years. Additionally, he worked as the deputy commander of the Bureau of Patrol Support, overseeing patrols, the tactical unit, and commercial vehicles.

David Dorn’s daughters from a previous marriage, Lisa and Debra their father’s widow Ann, spoke at the RNC saying their late father did not support President Donald Trump and would not want his name or image to be used to further Trump’s political agenda. The two believe Ann Dorn, their father’s widow, is now politicizing their father’s death.

His daughter Lisa Dorn said, “We want our dad to rest in peace and we don’t want his death or his legacy or any of his images to be used for political gain.” Debra White said, “We know his wife is a Trump supporter, but he was not. He frequently said they were not able to talk about politics, because they were at opposite ends of the spectrum. I know he would not want his legacy to be for his death to be used to further Trump’s law-and-order agenda.”
