There, he was reporting on the coup attempt against Mikhail Gorbachev in the month of August 1991. He has also previously worked as a business correspondent for the station between 1998 and 2016. His series “Life and Debt in America which aired on CBS Evening News in early 2008 earned him one of the seven Emmy Awards he collected during his career.
