April Warnecke is an American Emmy Award-winning meteorologist working for Good Morning Arizona as a weather forecaster. She has been working for the station since joining in 2005 and has served the station for over 2 decades.

Warnecke joined the University of Arizona in 1996 after finishing her studies at Gilbert High School. In 2000, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She later furthered her studies at Mississippi State University, where she received her Meteorology Certificate.

She started her journalism career in the CBS affiliate at Medford, Oregon, after graduating from college. There, she produced and anchored weekday newscasts. She then moved to Spokane, Washington, where she served KXLY as a freelance news reporter.
From Spokane, Warnecke relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, in 2005. She was elated to return to her hometown, where she watched Scott Pasmore and Royal Norman while growing up. Her favorite season in Arizona is monsoon season, as she recalls watching dust storms roll into town as a little girl in the East Valley. The volatility of the monsoon is what she believes makes forecasting Arizona weather especially challenging and exciting.
