Aria Janel Biography
Aria Janel is an American journalist working for WTOC as an anchor for THE News at Daybreak. In addition to that role, she has served the station on its Investigates’ Asked and Answered franchise since joining the station in November 2022. Previously, she served WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio as a multimedia journalist.

Janel joined the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2014 when she finished her high school education. In May 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and minored in Psychology. While in college, she went abroad to England for a semester where she attended Keele University. There, she took classes in film and marketing.
Janel served UNCW Teal TV first, from September 2014 to May 2018. There, she started as a sports reporter conducting interviews, recording b-roll, and pitching story ideas. She held that position till in January 2017. From August 2014 to May 2018, she served UNCW Teal TV as host of the Teal Talks Money segment and was the general assignment reporter. Also, she held news internships at WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Spectrum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
