While there, Arianna covered major breaking news including Hurricane Matthew’s destruction of parts of the Southeast United States, the historic flooding in Columbia, and the removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House.
Previously, she worked as an anchor and production assistant at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri. Poindexter also anchored the morning ‘Around the State’ segment and operated the teleprompter during the evening newscast. Later on, she secured a position as a reporter at the same station where she worked from April 2013 to May 2015. While there, she was in charge of editing, shooting, and writing live news stories for multiple newscasts. Arianna also wrote web stories about Mid-Missouri and updated breaking news stories to keep the audience informed and engaged.
She started her professional at NBC News in Washington D.C. where she served as an intern from June 2011 to May 2015. Poindexter also covered the corruption trial of former VA Gov.
