Arran Andersen is an American sports anchor working at 9news in Denver since joining the team in October 2019. Before joining 9 News he was working as a weekend sports Anchor at WNCN in Raleigh.

Andersen attended the Mass Media Institute at Stanford University, receiving a certificate in Broadcast Journalism. He also graduated from UC Davis with a degree in communications.

Andersen is a sports anchor working at 9news in Denver. He hosted the ‘Black and Blue Huddle,’ a weekly half-hour show chronicling the Carolina Panthers’ 2018 NFL Season. Arran also traveled with the Duke Blue Devils providing coverage of their NCAA Tournament runs in 2018 and 2019. He joined the CBS1 7 NEWS Team in September 2017. Before joining CBS17, Andersen spent 5 years in Denver at KMGH and covered two Super Bowls. Therefore as a self-professed sports nut, Arran has begun his career in Casper at the weekend sports anchor with stops in Chico.
In 2014 he joined the KOLD in Tucson, Ariz as the station’s sports anchor/reporter. In this station is where he got his first taste of major sports covering the Arizona Diamondbacks, the annual PGA Tour stop and the Arizona basketball team during their NCAA Tournament runs of ’04, ’05, and ‘06. Arran also co-hosted a drive-time sports talk radio show called “The Shootout.”
Arran returned home to northern California in 2006 working as a sports director for CBS -13 in Sacramento. He hosted the “Sports Show” on Saturdays and Sundays, providing sports features during the week. His stories were wide-ranging from Lance Armstrong’s return to competitive cycling to the explosion of mixed martial arts in the Capital City. Arran’s most memorable experience was reporting from the 2007 MLB All-Star Game, although he says interviewing Bill Murray at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am was a close second.
