Ashley Ruiz Biography

Ashley Ruiz is an American meteorologist working for Fox 44 as the chief meteorologist and can be seen on weekdays from 5:30 pm and 9 pm on FOX 44 and on NBC Local 33 at 5 pm, 6 pm, and 10 pm. She joined Fox 44 in October 2019, as a morning meteorologist, and later on June 2021, she was promoted to serving as the chief meteorologist. 

Metairie, Louisiana is her native home, and in 2010, she joined Louisiana State University where she graduated in 2012. Later on, she studied geosciences and broadcast meteorology at Mississippi State University where she graduate in 2015, with a degree in meteorology. After she had graduated, she relocated to Columbus, Mississippi where she worked at the CBS affiliate as a meteorologist.

Later on, she worked at the ABC affiliate in Pensacola, Florida as a meteorologist. While she worked in Pensacola, Florida, she gained experience in tracking tropical systems, winter weather, and severe weather. During her spare time, she enjoys cheering on the Saints and LSU, doing yoga, watching movies, and spending time with her two dachshunds; Comet and Cappie.
