Ashley Williams is an American journalist working for KOVR CBS13 as a primetime news anchor and reporter since April 2026. Before that role, she worked as an anchor and reporter on Good Day Sacramento. She joined the station in January 2007 as a production assistant and producer.

Williams joined California State University, Sacramento, in 2003 after finishing her high school education. In 2007, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Mass Media.
While in college, Williams was a member of the Nationally Ranked cheer team for two years. She also interned in TV development with the comedy department at 20th Century Fox.

Williams decided to pursue journalism because of the idolization of local news anchors she watched while growing up. She also genuinely loves people, which prompted her to share a positive narrative.
Williams believes her purpose on earth is to highlight and put smiles on people’s faces. Aside from her work on TV, she serves as a member of the Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
