Bill Wixey is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist serving as an anchor at Q13 News Seattle, Washington since 2003. Wixey has anchored and reported in Seattle since 1998. Prior to joining Q13 news he worked as a principal anchor at Fox Sports Net, where he covered the Mariners during their amazing 116-win season of 2001.

Wixey’s broadcast career began in 1991 in Great Falls, Montana Prior to joining Q13 News, Wixey served as a principal anchor at Fox Sports Net. While there he covered the Mariners during their amazing 116-win season of 2001. Before working for Fox Sports he worked as a sports anchor and reporter for KIRO-TV in Seattle and he is honored to have covered two Super Bowls with the Packers while working in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He also covered two Final Fours with the Arkansas Razorbacks during his time in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Wixey has covered a lot of interesting stories and major events all over the world, from the 2005 tsunami in South Asia right after it happened, to the devastating earthquake in Haiti and not forgetting the Olympic Games in Beijing, Vancouver, and London. He has earned awards for his amazing work, he won an Emmy for his outstanding work as an anchor in 2003 and in 2010 he won an Emmy for “Bill’s Journey,” which documented his successful battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

In 2005, he received accolades for his “Mission of Hope” documentary, in which he traveled to Sri Lanka shortly after the devastating tsunami to document the recovery efforts. Bill also gained recognition and he was voted Western Washington Man of the Year in the “Best of Western Washington” contest in 2009.
