Bob Lindmeier Biography
Bob Lindmeier is an American meteorologist working for WKOW as the senior chief meteorologist. He joined the station in 1989 as the chief meteorologist and has served the station for more than 3 decades.

Lindmeier works for WKOW as the senior chief meteorologist. In 1980, he began his career working at Weather Central in Madison, a private weather consulting company concentrating on forecasts for ski regions, agri-business, and power utilities.
In Madison, Lindmeier was on staff during the launch of a TV weather graphic system based on one of the first Apple personal computers in 1980. He also witnessed the swift development of new generations of weather graphics systems that transformed the TV weather broadcast industry. Also, he delivered weather broadcasts for WKOW on weekends and weekday mornings through the 1980s.
At Weather Central, Lindmeier was later promoted to general manager and in later years to vice president. He has also worked for the Wisconsin TV Network and more than 40 other radio and TV stations nationwide. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences gave him the Wisconsin Silver Circle Lifetime Achievement Award.
Lindmeier works as a committee member of the American Meteorological Society Station Scientist. In this role, he endorses broadcast meteorologists to be the “station scientists” and teach the public about weather-related subjects, including climate change.
Lindmeier is a strong believer in climate change education. He has given many presentations to school, faith-based, and civic groups. He serves as a member of the Citizen’s Climate Lobby, which focuses on national policies to tackle solutions to climate change.
