Brantly Keiek Biography
Brantly Keiek is an American journalist working for WGNO as a meteorologist since joining the station in January 2022. Previously, he worked for WXXV in Gulfport, Mississippi as a morning meteorologist for nearly 3 years.
Brantly Keiek Education
Keiek joined Florida State University in 2015 when he finished his high school education. In 2019, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Meteorology and a Mathematics Minor. Before graduating, he did a year-long internship at WEAR in Northwest Florida.
Keiek then served the station as a freelance meteorologist the following summer. As an undergraduate, he was a student meteorologist at FSU Weather for 3 years. In 2020, he joined Mississippi State University where he received a Master Of Science degree in Geosciences with Applied Meteorologist.

Keiek works for WGNO as a meteorologist. Previously, he worked for WXXV in Gulfport, Mississippi as a morning meteorologist for nearly 3 years. During his time there, he delivered reports surrounding tropical storms, tornadoes, wildfires, and flooding.
Notably, Keiek broadcasted the unforgettable 2020 and 2021 Atlantic hurricane seasons while in Mississippi. He was on the scene in Louisiana and Mississippi reporting Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Delta, Hurricane Sally, and Hurricane Zeta.
In 2021, Keiek delivered nonstop broadcasts for 16 hours as Hurricane Ida made landfall for his station and local NBC-affiliated stations in nearby markets. His passion for the atmosphere steered him towards a meteorology career in college.
Brantly’s passion for weather can be traced back to active hurricane seasons during his childhood. His interest in meteorology sparked when his hometown experienced back-to-back hurricane landfalls in 2004 and 2005.
Away from the weather, he served the Escambia County Department of Public Safety in Pensacola Beach, Florida as a surf rescue lifeguard and emergency medical responder for 8 years. There, he did more than 100 water rescues.
