Albizu joined Georgia State University in 2014 after finishing her studies at McEachern High School. In May 2018, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a double minor in Spanish and Sociology. During her sophomore year, she focused on Spanish studies at the Universidad de Granada in Spain.
Albizu served the college’s news station, GSTV, as an anchor, reporter, and news director for three years. Also, she mentored aspiring journalists, hosted a weekly news show, and produced general stories. In 2016, she earned second place at the Southeast Journalism Conference for “Best TV Hard News Reporter.” The following year, she won a second place for “Best Anchor” through the conference’s onsite competition.

In this capacity, she put together an extensive report on how an Atlanta agency didn’t provide affordable housing and prevent gentrification. She worked as an intern at WSB-TV and “Crime and Justice with Ashleigh Banfield on CNN/Headline News Network.
