After graduating with an electronics communications degree, Davis joined the University of Tennessee where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Operational Meteorology. He returned to school and attained a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. He advanced his studies there through MSU’s graduate program in operational meteorology with advanced meteorology and geology courses.

Davis works for WBBJ as a broadcast meteorologist. He secured his first TV job in Alabama where he tracked severe storms and tornadoes for more than a decade. He has worked at WMTY in Russellville, WAAY ABC 31 in Huntsville, KOAM-TV CBS 7, FOX 14 in the Pittsburg, and the Joplin, Missouri market.

Davis worked at KOAM where he helped in the weather team broadcast of the EF5 tornado that happened on May 22, 2011, one of the most fatal tornadoes in U.S. history. Also, he tracked mostly winter weather in West Virginia at WTRF as a full-time morning meteorologist.

Davis spoke at an NWA conference at the request of Nick Walker, a board member of the National Weather Association and meteorologist for The Weather Channel. He spoke about his use of social media and new internet streaming technology that saved lives in Joplin and how it can be used effectively in addition to TV broadcasts. He holds the seals of approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
