Brian New is an American Emmy Award-winning News Anchor and Reporter working for CBS 11 in Fort Worth, Texas as an Investigative Reporter. He joined the CBS team in 2013 after working for KENS 5.

New started his higher education at Syracuse University in the S. I Newhouse School of Public Communications. In 2001, New graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. He also enrolled for a degree in Journalism at the University of Missouri from the year 1997 to 1999. Apart from the school compound, New was dedicated to the athletic track as well. As a student at Syracuse, he participated in cross-country and track and field for the Orange team. As a correspondent for the CBS affiliate KENS 5 in San Antonio, New got his initial training in sizzling investigative journalism. His investigation depicted how drunk drivers avoided DWI charges, together with a loophole in the law in Texas after which mentally ill juvenile offenders could be released. An inspiring investigation that began as a 2010 story involved New encouraging the San Antonio Police Department to process what turned out to be thousands of unanalyzed rape kits.
His interest in telling people’s stories took him to reporting jobs in KTWO TV, Cheyenne, Amarillo, and Omaha, until he arrived at KENS in San Antonio. There he won the title, ‘Best Reporter’ twice in the year 2009-2010 and the year 2010-2011 by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters. He also worked as a reporter at 6 NEWS WOWT of Omaha, Nebraska, and KVII-TV of Amarillo, Texas.
