Brian Sullivan is an American television news anchor and business journalist working with CNBC. He is also the Senior National Correspondent for the network, covering some of the nation’s biggest stories.
Brian Sullivan Education
Sullivan attended James Wood High School in Winchester, Virginia, where he graduated. He then attended Brooklyn Law School earning a Juris Doctor degree and later New York University School of Continuing Education, gaining a Certificate in Journalism. Sullivan later attended Virginia Tech, where he double majored in Political Science and History and graduated in 1993. There he played on the rugby team and is a member of the Zeta Psi fraternity.

Early career and Bloomberg
Sullivan started by trading chemical commodities for Mitsubishi International, before joining Bloomberg in 1997. Before joining CNBC in 2011, he produced, reported, and anchored at Bloomberg Television for 12 years and Fox Business for 3 years. Brian is popular as one of the first financial journalists to highlight the risks of the housing bubble. He has been nominated for 2 prestigious Loeb Awards, one for his 2013 documentary America’s Gun: Rise of the AR-15 and the second for the 2007 special ”Subprime Shockwaves,” which also won the NY CPA Society Excellence in Financial Journalism award.
MSNBC and CNBC
He then joined MSNBC as a frequent guest on the program Morning Joe and also appeared on NBC Sports. He reported from the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia in 2014. Sullivan is currently an anchor and correspondent for CNBC. He is also the network’s Senior National Correspondent and presents the station’s evening program Last Call. Sullivan anchors CNBC’s ”Last Call” from Monday to Thursday (7 P.M.-8 P.M ET) which broadcasts from the CNBC Global Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. Previously, he hosted Worldwide Exchange and also co-hosted Power Lunch and Street Signs.
Away from work, he races cars competing in the SCCA class Spec Racer Ford. Sullivan previously raced in the class Formula Mazda. Brian won both the 2003 NESCCA Formula Mazda and 2008 NESCCA Spec Racer Ford Championships.
