Silverang joined Tallahassee State College in 2008 after finishing her high school education. In 2010, she received her Associate of Arts degree in Film, Cinema, and Video Studies. While in college, she was a student meteorologist and team leader at FSU Weather. She was involved with the North Florida Chapter of AMS/NWS.
