Carol Marin is an American Reporter/Anchor who is best known for her time at NBC5 as a news anchor and reporter. Besides her duties in NBC5, she was an interviewer on WTTW’s “Chicago Tonight” and a political columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times.

Carol Marin Career

Based in Chicago, Illinois, Marin is a television and print journalist. Marin attended and graduated from Palatine High School. She then joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is an award-winning reporter who has obtained journalism’s highest honors for instant two national Emmys, two duPont-Columbia awards, and two George Foster Peabody awards. The awards include a huge range of work that covers organized crime and a 20-year documentary project on the challenge of the facially disfigured and investigative anchoring on political corruption.

Her profession started in Knoxville, Tennessee at WBIR-TV and proceeded at WSM-TV in Nashville where she both reported and anchored. Carol came back home to Chicago and NBC5 News where she served as an anchor and reporter for the 6 & 10 p.m. newscasts from 1978 to May 1997. She became a correspondent for CBS News, working for both 60 Minutes II and 60 Minutes from 1997-2002.

Carol and producer Don Moseley produced Marin Corp Productions, an independent documentary company that has produced Discovery/NewYorkTimes and hour-long programs for CNN Presents in June of 2002. She returned to WMAQ in 2004 as the station’s political editor. After two years she signed on as a contributor to Chicago Tonight on WTTW.
