Carol Tshabalala is an award-winning South African sports broadcaster and emcee working as a sportscaster, producer, and voice-over artist at SuperSport International. She is also a freelance reporter and a live studio anchor at the Barclays Premier League Football Today Live Shows.

Carol began her career as a sportscaster for SABC after graduating from Krugersdorp High School in 2000. She worked as a voice-over artist, television anchor, and program director during her time there. Tshabalala joined Kaya FM 95.9 in 2005 as a sports news reporter, where she compiled and reported news on the breakfast show for about two years. She joined Radio 2000 as a drive-time sports show host in 2008 while continuing to work as a sportscaster for the SABC. Her time at Radio 2000 ended in 2013, but she continued to work for SABC until 2011.

Tshabala announced her departure from SABC in 2011 after ten years with the broadcaster, and she joined SuperSport. In an interview with BONA Magazine, Tshabala stated that one of the reasons she left SABC was because she felt she was not being used to her full potential. Her minor role in the 2010 FIFA World Cup coverage bothered her because it demonstrated that the channel didn’t believe in her enough to consider her for such a big event. Tshabala stated in another interview with Times LIVE that she needed something bigger and more global, which SuperSport could provide while SABC had cut their sports coverage at the time.

Carol Tshabalala is a skilled sportscaster. She is the only African woman who has hosted the FIFA Ballon d’Or. She has covered major sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Commonwealth Games, and others. Tshabalala became the first female sports anchor of a major television sports show in 2002. She began working as a live studio anchor for Barclays Premier League Productions in June 2016.

She also co-hosted SuperSport’s 10th-anniversary celebration in January 2017. Tshabalala was the first and remains the only female host of FIFA’s Ball on the Ball in Africa. She also had the honor of interviewing one of the English Premier League’s most iconic players, John Obi-Mikel, at Stamford Bridge in June 2016. Tshabalala has received numerous honors for her work in television and radio.
