Carolyn Jarvis is a Canadian correspondent who is working at Global News where she serves as a Chief Investigative Correspondent. Prior to joining the station she worked at Global National.

In 1997, she attended the Vancouver Academy Of Music where she graduated with a Bachelor of music and vocal performance in 2001. Later in 2003, she joined Ryerson University where she studied journalism. In addition, she has studied investigative journalism at Columbia University in New York.

Her outstanding work has; sparked national conversations launched investigations into corporations, and helped change laws. In addition, she has received many honors for her large-scale investigations. For her investigative series, Who’s Watching? which exposed shortcomings in Ontario’s probation system, she was awarded the Canadian Screen Award for Best National Reportage in 2018.
In addition, together with Global News, they were the only broadcasters to partner on The Price of Oil series in 2018, which was the largest collaboration of Canadian journalists to date. The investigative project produced a half-hour documentary that was called Canada’s Toxic Secret. The documentary shone a light on a troubling trend of industrial leaks and spills in Sarnia, Ontario, and prompted the Ontario government to fund a health study in the region. Additionally, the documentary was distinguished by both an Honourable Mention from the Canadian Hillman Prize and a Silver World Medal from the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.
Furthermore, her long-hour investigation into the Moncton RCMP deaths in 2015, brought to light a concerning lack of training and equipment among frontline members of the RCMP. The investigation invoked a nationwide response, followed by labor code charges against the RCMP. In the same year, Under Fire was honored with the RTDNA Dan McArthur Award for investigative reporting.
Carolyn served as the Chief Correspondent of Global News’ current affairs shows, 16×9 from 2008 to 2016. Previously, she worked at the network’s flagship nightly newscast, Global National where she served as the weekend anchor and west coast correspondent. Additionally, she was a member of the board of the Canadian Opera Company.
