Carolyn Purdy-Gordon is an American writer and actress who is best known for being the wife of the late Cult Classic Horror filmmaker, Stuart Gordon. She is also known for her work in Fortress (1992), Re-Animator (1985) and From Beyond (1986).

She started her eminent screen career with a portrayal of a physician in Gordon’s popular gorefest-cum-black comedy Re-Animator (1985), starring Bruce Abbott and Jeffrey Combs. She then worked on additional projects with her husband including the horror-comedy From Beyond (1986), the more straight-faced shocker Dolls (1987), and the sci-fi action movie Robot Jox (1989).

In 1976, Purdy-Gordon was nominated for a 1976 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actress in a Principal Role in a Play for “Switch Bitch” at the Organic Theater Company in Chicago, Illinois.
