Casey Hux is an American mechanical engineer and TV personality who was one of the 22 men competing for the heart of the leading lady, Taylor Frankie Paul, in The Bachelorette Season 22. The Bachelorette Season 22 was to premiere on March 22, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Three days before the season premiere(March 19th), TMZ went public with a video of a 2023 domestic violence incident in which Paul attacked her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Following the release of the video, Disney Entertainment Television decided to pull the season from its ABC broadcast schedule.
Casey Hux Education
Hux joined Virginia Tech University in September 2013 after finishing his education at Clover Hill High School-Math and Science Center. In May 2017, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Leadership and Social Change.

Hux joined the Altria Group in June 2017 as an Engineer I-Conventional Product Group (ELDP Rotation 1) after interning at the company while in college. In that role, he worked at Altria’s Research and Development Center. There, he designed high-speed machinery, process improvements, and new innovative technologies.
Hux was promoted in June 2018 to Business Unit Leader (ELDP Rotation 2), where he managed production of smokeless tobacco at US Smokeless Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of Altria. In May of the following year, he added Engineer II-Facilities & Utilities (ELDP Rotation 3 to his duties. He worked in project coordination and project management at Altria’s Manufacturing Center in HVAC Maintenance in that role.
Hux was promoted to Sr. Engineer I (ELDP Rotation 4) in June 2020. In this role, he was a project manager for Capital/Expense projects for the US Smokeless Tobacco Company in Nashville, Tennessee. He also worked as mechanical support and program coordination in Altria’s new oral nicotine pouch product business. Following that role, he was promoted to Sr. Engineer I – Project Manager & Continuous Improvement Lead in June 2021. In this capacity, he managed projects of up to $3M across Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
Hux was promoted to Sr. Engineer II – Project Manager and IWS Leader in June 2023 after being a Sr. Engineer I for 2 years. Since July 2025, he has served the Altria Group as a project controller for engineering units across the US Smokeless Tobacco in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia. In this role, he supervises the financial and administrative aspects of all USSTC engineering projects.
