Cassie Carlson is an American Award-winning Sports Anchor and Reporter working for Fox 32 serving as a sports reporter and anchor. Previously, she worked for WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee where she served as sports anchor and reporter.

After completing her high school education, Cassie went on to join the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013 where she graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2017. In college, she worked as a football recruiter at the Campus Club where she talked with parents and recruited the football team.
In addition to being a football recruiter, Carlson also worked as an assistant teacher and U17 news director from August 2015 to May 2017. As an assistant teacher, she was in charge of monitoring the lab and teaching new students how to operate the playback and switcher system. Besides this, she was also a member of Omicron Chapter-Fighting Illini Productions and Chi Omega Fraternity.

Carlson works as a sports anchor and reporter at Fox 32 in Chicago, Illinois. She has been with the station for more than a year since she joined in April 2022. Before joining Fox 32, Cassie worked as a sports anchor and reporter at WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. While there, she was in charge of various roles such as producing, shooting, and reporting sports content for legacy stations. Cassie also covered Memphis Grizzlies from Ja Morant’s rookie as well as worked as a play-by-play for ESPN.
Prior to working as a sports anchor, Carlson worked for Fox Sports Southwest as a volleyball broadcast and color analyst for Texas Tech soccer. She served the station for seven months from August 2019 to February 2020. Initially, Cassie served as a weekend sports reporter and anchor at KJTV FOX 34 in Lubbock, Texas. During her time at KJTV, she anchored a 30-minute sports show on Sundays & Saturdays and edited sports news. For her work at the station, she was honored with an AP award for Best Sports Special.
She previously worked as a news photographer and sports at WCCU FOX Champaign 55/27 in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. Cassie also executed live shots and wrote VOSOTs using iNews and AVID at 5:30 pm and 9 pm newscasts. Before working for WCCU, she worked for Fighting Illini Productions as a video production assistant in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. While there, Carlson hosted a weekly Fighting Illini Athletics web show and conducted interviews with coaches and players. She also worked as a Play-by-play announcer at BTN where she covered sports stories including Women’s Soccer, Wrestling, and Women’s Gymnastics.
Cassie began her professional career at CSN News in Chicago working as a news intern. She covered Chicago Cubs baseball and helped in creating segments for news shows. She served the station from May 2016 to August 2016 where she organized sports trivia shows such as “Beer Money”. Through her work as a sports anchor, Carlson has been nominated for several awards including the IBA Best Sports Package, the SPJ Best TV Sports Reporting, and the National Finalist awards.
